Wanderley gained notoriety in brazil in the 1960 s with his own group walter wanderley e seu conjunto and wrote arrangements for joão gilberto and antônio carlos jobim whose tunes he recorded. Wanderley had his biggest hit with the summer samba on this record i guess but he went on to record two albums that were even better cheganca and batucada i wish these were not so criminally hard to get on cd.
