A spray on containing fluoropolymer is required to waterproof the shoes. For maximum durability our multi purpose vinyl fabric is treated to help prevent uv damage and mildew. The ones with a silicone base will break down the acrylic fibers within the canvas causing it to become even more susceptible to moisture. Acrylic canvas like cotton canvas is a tight weave fabric. This fabric is manufactured with a poly vinyl chloride coating as well as anti mildew and uv protection to combat against vigorous weather elements and formidable physical wear and tear. It has a soft hand and aesthetic smooth matte finish for a refined clean look. Fabric to be treated must be dry.

Waterproofing will ensure that the canvas shoes remain durable and clean during the time they are worn. Vcp ripstop features increased strength paired with a soft hand and smooth matte surface. Vinyl coated fabrics are a good choice for bimini tops but unsuitable for enclosures such as sail covers or boat covers. For awnings and boat covers we recommend our outdura marine canvas or industrial vinyls.

Our 18 oz pvc vinyl is sturdy and made to handle extreme outdoor conditions and heavy stress. Our 18oz vinyl fabric is an industrial coated fire retardant pvc vinyl material known for strength and durability. Unless it is well ventilated condensation wets the underside of the fabric eventually leading to mildew. Apply enough waterproofing with sprayer brush or sponge to thoroughly wet top surface.
